The Role:
The Supply Chain & Facilities Manager will oversee the integrated process of procurement, inventory management, warehousing, logistics, and facilities operations across our manufacturing site.
Reporting to the Head of Production and Quality, this role plays a vital part in ensuring operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and production continuity, managing the flow of materials and services from supplier to customer.
The role requires a hands-on and strategic leader who can manage a small team, streamline supply chain processes, maintain supplier relationships, and ensure our facilities operate safely and efficiently to support ongoing business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage production requirements by analysing stock levels, customer orders, and forecasted sales.
- Oversee procurement and vendor management, negotiating with suppliers and ensuring timely delivery of materials and services.
- Lead warehousing and logistics operations, optimising efficiency and accuracy in stock control and distribution.
- Manage building infrastructure and equipment maintenance to ensure compliance, safety, and operational continuity.
- Recruit, train, and develop team members, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
What we're looking for:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in planning and inventory management, plus 5 years in facilities management.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organisational skills, with a proactive and solution-focused mindset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage supplier relationships and deliver cost-effective solutions.
- Experience in warehousing, logistics, and cross-functional coordination.
Qualifications:
- Relevant qualification such as CIPS accreditation, Diploma in Facilities Management, MSc in Supply Chain Management, or BSc in Business Management.
- Advanced IT skills using Microsoft Office and familiarity with data management systems such as Sage and Sim50.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable: Managing Safety Certificate; experience within manufacturing, engineering, or electrical environments.
