Overview

Our Academy of Engineering covers Agricultural, Motor Vehicle and Large Transport Vehicle Engineering with multiple training facilities across our campus to ensure our learners are industry focused and career ready.

The College has significantly invested in the Engineering facility, with a £7 million Advanced Engineering and Agri-Tech Centre boasting some fantastic, state-of-the-art facilities and equipment for teaching purposes. A new facility, over at our Reaseheath Engineering Apprenticeship Academy, was purpose built to accommodate the growth in demand within Large Transport Vehicle engineering. We also have an impressive five bay and hi spec equipment facility for our Motor Vehicle cohort.

About the role

As an Instructor, you’ll deliver practical sessions to students on a range of programmes up to Level 3. You’ll supervise hands-on activities, support learners in developing industry-standard skills, and ensure a safe and engaging learning environment. You’ll also play a key role in maintaining equipment and supporting the wider team with curriculum development and learner progression.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality practical instruction in motor vehicle maintenance and repair
  • Supervise and support students during practical activities
  • Maintain accurate records and assist with student assessment
  • Ensure health and safety standards are upheld at all times
  • Support departmental events such as open days and enrolment
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and workshop spaces to industry standards
  • Contribute to curriculum development and innovation

The successful candidate will have:

  • Hold a Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject area
  • Have vocational experience in the motor vehicle industry
  • Be confident in areas such as engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrics, and tractor technology
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ideally hold a recognised teaching qualification (or be willing to work towards one)
