Health Safety and Environment ManagerLeading Manufacturing company (FMCG)Nantwich, Cheshire £50,000 - £65,000 per annum (D.O.E) + 10% BonusSeeking an experienced HSE Leader to support and develop a medium sized, fast paced manufacturing site in Cheshire.  The focus would be to ensure that the current safety management system is robust and comprehensive; drive cultural change, taking the workforce with you on a journey to own safety.  Internally this is called a Lead HSE Advisor, but you would have full creative control of this site reporting to the Factory Manager with a dotted line to the Cluster HSE Manager who is very supportive. This role would suit a up and coming, strong Health, Safety and Environment Advisor, with site management experience or current HSE manager who looking for a different challenge. You will be able to put your own stamp on safety and shape the future of HSE across the site.In regards to progression, there are numerous opportunities to grow and progress your career within the wider business and HSE projects to get your teeth stuck in to. There is a strong network of other HSE professionals across the UK, so you can keep in touch with other sites and share best practice.Main Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that the requirements of all relevant HSE legislation are implemented and followed, and that the company complies with corporate and legal requirements at all times.
  • Create and drive a 3 – 5 year plan for HSE
  • Collaborate with team leaders, factory managers, other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support and drive a proactive safety culture across the site where the workforce feels engaged, empowered and confident to take ownership
  • Ensure the site is future fit by supporting the site to make continuous improvement in Health, Safety and Environment standards and practices year on year.
  • Take the lead on HSE projects across the site
Essential qualification, background:
  • NEBOSH Certificate as a minimum
  • Fast paced manufacturing experience is essential ideally with food, drink, paper or packaging experience
  • Able to take the company on a cultural journey
  • Has previously been responsible for a site for HS&E
  • Visible and approachable on site
