Compass Point Recruitment is working with a leading provider of high-quality sheet metal, welding, and fabrication solutions where they truly take pride in their craftsmanship and ability to deliver precision-engineered products to a wide range of industries.
They are seeking a skilled and experienced Workshop Engineer Supervisor to join their team.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in sheet metal, welding, and fabrication, and will be capable of leading by example both on the shop floor and in a supervisory capacity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support the day-to-day operations of the workshop and production staff
- Provide hands-on support with welding, fabrication, and sheet metal work
- Monitor and ensure work is completed to high quality standards and within set deadlines
- Compile accurate and competitive quotations based on technical requirements
- Identify and resolve production and technical issues efficiently
- Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and stakeholders
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment, ensuring all health & safety protocols are followed
Requirements:
- Proven experience in sheet metal, welding, and fabrication (desirable)
- Formal qualifications in engineering, welding, or fabrication (preferred but not essential)
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Confident problem-solver with a practical and solution-focused approach
- Competent in preparing quotes and understanding job specifications
- Able to meet tight deadlines and work efficiently under pressure
