We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Welder to join a growing engineering team based in Newark. Reporting directly to the Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling high-quality components that meet strict performance and safety standards. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail and a strong technical background in welding and mechanical fitting.
What You'll Do
Carry out TIG and MMA (stick welding) on a range of materials to precise specifications.
Work from engineering drawings and blueprints, ensuring accuracy in all fabrication and fitting tasks.
Use a variety of hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, and assemble parts.
Undertake mechanical fitting and alignment of assemblies, ensuring full functionality.
Inspect completed work to confirm compliance with quality requirements.
Contribute to continuous improvements in production processes.
Maintain a clean and safe workshop environment, following all health and safety practices.
Provide support to colleagues across different areas of the workshop when required.
What We're Looking For
Proven experience in fabrication and welding, with strong skills in TIG and MMA techniques.
Solid mechanical fitting knowledge, including fault-finding and problem-solving ability.
Experience working with sheet metal and general fabrication processes.
Confident in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
Strong numerical ability for accurate measurement and layout work.
Previous experience with assembly tasks is desirable.
