Who will you be joining?

Collab Talent Solutions Ltd is proud to be exclusively partnering with a leading supplier of automated access solutions. They're renowned for their high-quality, reliable products and exceptional customer service. You'll be joining their team in Newbury in a crucial office-based role, providing essential technical expertise and support to their internal sales team and, more importantly, directly to their valued customers—professional gate and access system installers.

Why would you be a good fit?

This role is ideally suited to someone who has previously worked as an installer of automated gate systems, automated access solutions, or similar technical installations. Your practical experience and in-depth product knowledge will be invaluable in assisting customers with complex technical queries and identifying the best solutions. When things are a little quieter on the technical support front, you'll also have the opportunity to work closely with the sales team, lending your expertise to enhance their customer interactions and product understanding.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to technical inquiries from sales colleagues and customers via phone and email, offering expert advice on product selection, installation, troubleshooting, and fault diagnosis.
  • Assisting customers in identifying the most appropriate products and systems to meet their specific project requirements.
  • Maintaining an in-depth understanding of the full product range, including technical specifications, functionality, and compatibility.
  • During less busy periods, proactively assisting the sales team by providing product demonstrations, technical explanations, and contributing to customer proposals.
  • Contributing to the technical development of the sales team and customers by sharing knowledge and assisting with product training sessions.
  • Assisting in the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, FAQs, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Fostering strong relationships with the installer network by providing excellent and reliable technical assistance.
  • Providing valuable technical feedback to sales and product development teams to improve product offerings and customer satisfaction.
  • Proactively resolving technical issues and escalating complex problems to relevant departments when necessary.

To thrive in this role, you'll need:

  • Proven experience as an installer of automated gates or similar automated access solutions is desirable.
  • Strong technical understanding of electrical and mechanical principles relevant to automated systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex technical information clearly and concisely.
  • A customer-focused approach with a genuine desire to assist and support.
  • Proficiency in using standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to learn and adapt.

What's in it for you?

  • You'll receive a competitive salary of £30,000 - £40,000 dependent on experience as well as a comprehensive benefits package.
  • You'll be part of a supportive and collaborative small team environment, with continuous professional development opportunities in a growing business working closely with the leadership team.
