Primary School Admin Assistant
Prospero Teaching are seeking to appoint an excellent, enthusiastic, and highly motivated individual to join a school Primary Schools admin team we are working with in Newcastle. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with the Headteacher and other office staff, leading key aspects of administration.
The school are looking for someone with previous administrative experience or other experience working in a school. The ideal candidate would be someone who is warm, welcoming, positive, a quick learner with an eye for detail, and who possesses fantastic organisational skills.
Start: November Start
Hours: 8:30 - 16:00
Contract : Full time until Christmas with option to extend
Pay: 90-100 per day
Key Attributes:
Good maths and English skills (GCSE Grade C or equivalent)
Excellent communication skills and confidence in using IT applications (e.g., spreadsheets, databases and all other Microsoft systems)
The ability to build strong relationships with team members, parents, and governors
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting front-of-house administration, including answering phones, hospitality, first aid, and correspondence
Processing payments linked to school dinners, lettings, and other financial matters
Leading curriculum enrichment administration, such as organising school clubs and trips
Maintaining the school's social media presence and website
To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
- An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you)
- Experience of short, medium and long-term planning
- Previous admin experience or experience working in a school setting
- Strong knowledge of excel and the Microsoft packages
- Strong relationship-building skills with an ability to build rapport
- A positive and resilient attitude towards work
- Strong organisation and communication skills
