Our Local Authority is looking for a Head of Service in asset management within housing. The successful candidate will be required to join a dynamic, customer focussed team with aims to reach targets are solve any complex problems that appear in the job role.

Key Responsibilitie:

  • Lead the Council's housing asset management function, ensuring safe, decent, and energy-efficient homes that meet modern living standards.

  • Develop and deliver a Social Housing Asset Management Programme aligned with the Council's Housing Strategy and compliant with all regulatory and legal requirements for a Local Authority Registered Provider.

  • Oversee neighbourhood planning, investment planning, asset performance, divestment, and economic efficiency, ensuring timely delivery of cyclical and planned maintenance programmes.

  • Define and manage capital investment priorities, creating robust investment programmes and securing funding opportunities to enhance housing and neighbourhood development.

  • Set strategic and operational performance standards, monitor progress, manage risks, and drive continuous improvement in asset management services.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, senior leaders, elected members, regulators, and community stakeholders.

  • Act as the Council's principal advisor on housing asset performance, compliance, risks, and opportunities.

  • Lead, develop, and empower staff, fostering a high-performance culture and supporting skills growth and knowledge transfer.

  • Represent the Council in regional and national forums to share best practice and influence sector developments.
