The OpportunityNigel Wright are delighted to be supporting our client, a vibrant Primary School within a Multi-Academy Trust as they look to appoint an Administrative Assistant to their school office. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Administrator looking for a term-time only position to start in September 2025.Start date: 1st September 2025Hours of work: 37 hours per weekContract: Permanent, Term time only Location: Newcastle based Primary SchoolKey ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will provide comprehensive administration support to the School and the wider Trust with the following duties, 
  • Undertake the day-to-day tasks of the general office ensuring the provision of administrative support to the Head Teacher, staff, local governing board and central office
  • Implementing admin and finance processes in accordance with the Trust's policies 
  • Liaise with staff, pupils, parents and governors as required, including providing reception services, arranging events and meetings
  • Respond to enquiries, verbally and in writing from a variety of sources
  • Support school admission and transfer procedures in accordance with policies
  • Organise and minute meetings and maintain diaries for Governors
  • Manage pupil absences including liaising with parents and carers, managing any difficult discussions in a calm, measured and supportive manner
  • Maintain records, reports and data adhering to data protection and GDPR 
  • Receive and check requisitions when placing orders with suppliers
  • Managing reconciliation of cash/cheques and other payments made to the school office maintaining clear records
  • Awareness of Health & Safety policies within the school 
  • Provide support and training when required to other staff and volunteers

  • Commitment to the ethos of the school 
  • The ability to take a lead with office administration duties
  • Work as part of a team effectively and establish excellent relationships with children and parents, promoting aspirational achievement and progress for all groups of pupils 
  • The ability to remain calm and work effectively in pressured situations
