Job Title: Graduate Teaching Assistant (GRAD TA)

GSL Education are currently recruiting for Graduate Teaching Assistants to work across schools in Newcastle. This role is perfect for aspiring teachers, educational psychologists, or individuals interested in gaining hands-on classroom experience.
Role Overview:
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support students academically and emotionally. You’ll gain invaluable classroom experience, contribute to a positive learning environment, and help learners with various needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups to reinforce learning.
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
- Help manage classroom behaviour and encourage positive interactions.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to staff.
- Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all learners.
Job Requirements of Graduate Teaching Assistant:
- A degree in psychology, education, child development, or a related discipline (or equivalent qualification).
- Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational, youth work, or care setting.
- A genuine enthusiasm for education and a commitment to supporting the development and well-being of students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and parents.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
