Jackson Hogg have partnered with a specialist manufacturing business in the Newcastle area on a Quality Manager position.
The Quality Manager will be responsible for the following:
- Be a key driver in the implementation of quality strategies across the business, ensuring the consistent high standards on all products, regulatory requirements and customer expectations
- Champion and drive initiatives for process optimization, defect prevention, and waste reduction. Collaborate closely with R&D, production, engineering, and supply chain teams to embed quality at every stage of the product lifecycle, from raw material sourcing to final product delivery.
- Take full ownership of our Quality Management Systems (e.g., ISO 9001 and other relevant industry standards), leading their design, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement across all facilities to ensure efficacy and compliance.
- Develop, articulate, and execute global quality strategy and policies, ensuring alignment with our business objectives, our dedication to technical excellence, and the creation of clear added value for our customers through high-quality and sustainable plastic products.
- Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of quality professionals. Foster an empowering and collaborative environment where team members can grow, innovate, and contribute significantly to the businesses quality objectives.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for significant customer quality concerns, ensuring prompt investigation, effective resolution, and proactive measures to enhance customer satisfaction. Establish and maintain strong quality relationships with suppliers, ensuring the quality of incoming materials and components.
- Define, monitor, and report on key quality performance indicators (KPIs). Analyse quality data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and risks, providing insightful reports and recommendations to senior management.
Quality Manager Requirements
- Experience in quality management leadership roles within the manufacturing sector, with a strong preference for experience in plastics, chemicals, or a related materials industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive Quality Management Systems
- Proven track record of successfully leading, motivating, and developing diverse teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.
- A strategic thinker with meticulous attention to detail and a proactive, forward-looking approach to quality assurance and improvement.
