Refrigeration Engineer

A respected national provider of engineering and construction services is seeking to expand its workforce in the North East due to continued contract growth. Operating from multiple regional offices across the UK, the company delivers high-quality, energy-efficient solutions to clients in the commercial and industrial sectors.

Specialising in refrigeration, HVAC, and facilities maintenance, the organisation takes a collaborative approach to project delivery—offering full in-house support from design and procurement through to installation and ongoing service. An exciting opportunity is now available for an experienced Refrigeration Engineer to join the maintenance team in the Newcastle/Middlesborough area.

To carry out planned and reactive refrigeration maintenance in line with service-level agreements, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and customer service are consistently met.

• Undertake scheduled and emergency refrigeration maintenance across client sites.

• Deliver work in line with agreed specifications, within the allocated timeframes.

• Identify and resolve technical faults and maintenance issues efficiently.

• Communicate with the Account Manager to support effective service delivery.

• Ensure full compliance with health and safety procedures and company policies.

• Maintain the cleanliness and condition of the company vehicle (if provided).

• Complete job-related paperwork and updates on internal and client systems.

• Carry out any other reasonable duties as required by management.

• Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner at all times.

• Develop strong working relationships with clients, colleagues, and site teams.

• Deliver planned and reactive works with a focus on quality and safety.

• Support the business in meeting key performance and compliance targets.

• Actively contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and safe working practices.

• Be flexible with travel and task allocation in line with operational needs.

• Previous experience in commercial refrigeration maintenance.

• F-Gas 2079 certification (essential).

• Strong working knowledge of maintenance procedures and compliance standards.

• Ability to work independently or within a team structure.

• Excellent communication, fault-finding, and organisational skills.

• Full UK driving licence.

• A positive attitude and commitment to delivering exceptional service.

• £42,789 per annum
