Job Title: Project Manager (Civils & Construction)

About the Role:
A large consultancy is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their team in the North East. This pivotal role will see you lead the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects across both civil engineering and building construction sectors. You will act as the key client interface, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while fostering strong client relationships across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- End-to-End Project Leadership: Lead and manage complex projects from inception to completion, encompassing feasibility, design, procurement, construction, and handover phases.
- Stakeholder Management: Develop and maintain robust relationships with clients, contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams, ensuring clear communication and effective collaboration.
- Commercial & Risk Management: Proactively manage project budgets, costs, contractual obligations, and risks, implementing mitigation strategies to ensure financial success and compliance.
- Programme Management: Develop, monitor, and report on project programmes, ensuring critical milestones are met and proactively addressing any deviations.
- Quality & Safety Assurance: Uphold and champion the highest standards of quality, health, safety, and environmental performance across all project activities.
About You:
- Proven experience as a Project Manager delivering a mix of civil engineering and building construction projects.
- Strong understanding of various contract forms (e.g., NEC, JCT) and procurement routes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Relevant professional qualification (e.g., APM, RICS, CIOB) or working towards chartership.
- Based in or willing to relocate to the North East of England
