Senior Social Worker - Child ProtectionLocation: Newcastle City CouncilHourly Rate: £31.74Role Overview:As a Senior Social Worker in the Child Protection team, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding children and supporting families through complex and challenging situations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing and managing risk to ensure the safety and well-being of children.

  • Developing and implementing care plans in collaboration with families and partner agencies.

  • Conducting child protection investigations and participating in strategy meetings.

  • Providing supervision and guidance to less experienced social workers and students.

  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in line with statutory requirements.

Requirements:

  • Social Work Qualification: Degree or diploma in Social Work.

  • Registration: Must be registered with Social Work England.

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in child protection or related fields.

  • Skills: Strong assessment, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Commitment: Dedication to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
