Job Summary:

Northumberland County Council is looking for a skilled Senior Practitioner to join their Family and Child Team (FACT). This role focuses on supporting children and families while ensuring safeguarding practices are followed. The Senior Practitioner provides leadership within the team and handles complex cases.Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex child protection and safeguarding cases

  • Lead assessments, care planning, and interventions using the Signs of Safety model

  • Support and mentor junior social workers

  • Work collaboratively with other professionals and agencies

  • Prepare high-quality reports and attend court as needed

  • Contribute to the development and improvement of the team's practiceRequirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker (Degree/DipSW/CQSW/CSS)

  • Registered with Social Work England

  • Experience in children's services and safeguarding

  • Strong communication, assessment, and decision-making skills

  • Ability to manage and prioritize a complex caseload
