Job Title: Interim Finance Project Manager M&A Focus
Location: Remote-based (occasional travel to Newcastle & target site as required)
Contract: 3-month minimum (outside IR35)
Day Rate: £500£600/day DOE
Start Date: Within 2 weeks
We are working in close partnership with a high-growth organisation in the North East to appoint an Interim Finance Project Manager to lead a financial due diligence workstream for a planned acquisition. This is a high-profile, strategic project requiring a commercially astute and technically strong accountant with a proven background in buy-side M&A and a hands-on, delivery-focused mindset.
The successful candidate will be ACA or ACCA qualified, experienced in managing transaction-based projects end-to-end, and confident in presenting findings and strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the financial due diligence process on a targeted acquisition
- Analyse historical financials, year-end accounts, accruals, and balance sheets
- Assess the financial position, risks, and integrity of reported information
- Provide high-quality, insight-driven reporting packs for executive decision-making
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, external advisors, and the target company
- Contribute to post-diligence integration planning as required
Candidate Requirements:
- ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
- Strong experience in buy-side M&A due diligence and financial project delivery
- Highly analytical, detail-oriented and commercially minded
- Strong working knowledge of Sage (or similar mid-market accounting systems)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills must be able to work cross-functionally and influence senior stakeholders
- Remote-first mindset, but open to occasional UK travel
