The Project

As an Assistant Site Manager, you will have a key role in supporting the Senior Site Manager with overseeing day-to-day operations on high volume new build housing developments in the North East. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the project progresses smoothly, safely, and efficiently, while upholding high standards of quality and compliance.

Requirements

For this role it is essential that you carry the following professional qualifications as a minimum;

  • SMSTS
  • First Aid
  • CSCS Gold Card
  • Fire Marshall (Desirable however not essential)
  • Scaffold - CISRS (Desirable however not essential)

It is also essential that you hold the experience below;

  • Proven history of supporting the successfully delivery of new build residential schemes
  • At least 3 years of experience of operating in a supervisory or similar position for a leading contractor or subcontractor.

  • Extensive health and safety knowledge
  • Effective communication skills, verbal and written
  • Ability to organise and manage project schedules
  • Proven ability to support and assist a team effectively
  • A solid understanding of relevant regulations and standards
  • In-depth understanding of construction methods, materials, and building processes
  • Exceptional focus on detail to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications

The Role

Duties

  • Reporting regularly to the Senior Site Manager
  • Manage the coordination of permits whilst conducting risk assessments
  • Addressing issues and ensuring clear communication among stakeholders
  • Identify and report any defects, implementing the necessary corrective actions
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensuring smooth alignment with project goals
  • Oversee the progress of work, ensuring it aligns with established quality standards
  • Maintaining accurate records of work completed, materials used, and workforce attendance
  • Implement and enforce health and safety regulations on-site, promoting a safe working environment
  • Ensure all activities on-site adhere to company policies and industry-specific construction regulations
  • Assist in managing and coordinating day-to-day onsite operations, ensuring seamless project progression
  • Monitor project timelines and financial parameters to ensure alignment with planned schedules and budgetary limits
  • Perform routine site audits to ensure consistent adherence to high-quality standards, identifying areas for improvement
  • Manage and facilitate effective communication and collaboration between subcontractors, suppliers and on-site workers
  • Ensure all workers are equipped with the correct personal protective equipment (PPE) and consistently adhere to established safety protocol
  • Participate in site meetings and compiling detailed progress reports to keep stakeholders informed on project developments, timelines, and any issues that may arise
