GSL Education London Branch is currently seeking a passionate and inspiring Art/DT Teacher to work in vibrant secondary schools across Newham and Tower Hamlets. This is a fantastic opportunity to join schools that value creativity, innovation, and hands-on learning. The position begins in September 2025 and is available on a permanent, long-term basis.

We are looking for an Art/DT Teacher who can deliver engaging and practical lessons that spark imagination and develop key skills in Art and Design Technology. This is a great chance to bring your artistic flair and technical know-how into the classroom and support students in expressing themselves while learning valuable life skills.

Responsibilities of an Art/DT Teacher:

  • Deliver engaging Art and Design Technology lessons to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students
  • Plan and prepare creative and practical lessons that inspire pupils and promote independent thinking
  • Foster a safe and supportive learning environment that encourages exploration and expression
  • Promote high standards of behaviour, effort, and presentation in all student work
  • Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to meet the needs of all learners
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to plan projects and enrich the curriculum
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to support development

Requirements for the Art/DT Teacher role:

  • Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have experience teaching Art and/or Design Technology in a secondary school setting
  • Strong knowledge of the Art/DT curriculum and assessment methods
  • Ability to manage a classroom effectively and maintain high expectations
  • Creative, organised, and enthusiastic about supporting young people
  • Willingness to take part in department and whole-school events
