Job Title: Senior HR Consultant
Location: Newham E16, London (3 minutes walk from Royal Albert train station)
Contract Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 3 months (possible extension)
Working Pattern: Full Time
Hourly Rate: 28.01 per hour PAYE or 36.50 per hour Umbrella.
Hybrid 2/3 days depending on the needs of the service area
About the Role:
Our client is seeking a Senior HR Consultant to provide professional advice and consultancy services that align with strategic objectives across the employee life cycle. This role will involve managing a dedicated HR team to ensure high-quality support in areas such as employee relations, performance management, and organisational change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver professional HR advice that addresses all stages of the employee life cycle, including resourcing, probation, induction, and employee relations cases.
- Manage and develop a team within the HR Advice and Consultancy service to provide consistent and effective guidance on HR policies and procedures.
- Coordinate team activities and allocate resources to meet service priorities and respond to organisational needs.
- Develop and maintain HR toolkits (procedures, guidance, templates) to assist managers in their people management responsibilities.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date records of casework are maintained within the centralised case management system.
- Provide coaching and support to team members to enhance the quality of advice provided to managers.
- Proactively manage complex cases, including grievances, disciplinary actions, and TUPE transfers.
- Monitor the application of HR policies and recommend necessary improvements to ensure they remain relevant and effective.
- Facilitate workshops and coaching sessions to equip managers with the skills needed for effective people management.
- Lead assigned HR projects and initiatives to drive service improvement.
- Build strong working relationships with managers, HR colleagues, and Trade Unions to foster best practises.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience in HR consultancy and advisory roles.
- Strong understanding of HR policies, procedures, and legislation.
- Excellent team management and leadership skills.
- Ability to handle complex casework with a proactive approach.
- Strong coaching and relationship-building skills.
- Commitment to equality, diversity, and health and safety compliance.
- Experience in workshop delivery and professional development initiatives.
