An established and growing business in Newmarket is looking for a Payroll Controller to join their Finance team.

You'll play a key role in ensuring payroll and timesheet processes run smoothly and accurately each month.
You'll work closely with Finance, HR, and Operations teams, acting as a trusted point of contact for all payroll-related queries.

Day to day, you'll:

  • Maintain and update payroll and timesheet data with accuracy and precision
  • Liaise with internal teams to ensure all pay changes and timesheets are processed correctly and on time
  • Handle payroll queries professionally and efficiently
  • Prepare and check payroll before submission
  • Process expenses and maintain accurate audit trails
  • Stay up to date with PAYE, NI, pension, and P11D legislation



What You'll Bring

  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, PAYE, and NI
  • Excellent Excel skills - confident using formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis
  • Highly organised and process-driven with exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Proven experience in payroll and finance administration
