Position summary:
HOSPITAL STOCK ASSISTANT
BASED: Polar SpeedUPS Building, Polar Speed Distribution Limited, Unit 15 Newport Business Centre, Newport, NP19 4RF and Guildford Hospital
SALARY: £12.21 PER HOUR, 8 HOURS PER WEEK, EVER FRIDAY, OR COULD DO 4 HOURS THURSDAY AND 4 HOURS FRIDAY * Please note this will be an 8 hour a week contract, however overtime may be required during peak periods*
HOURS: FRIDAYS - 8AM START

The company specialises in active temperature-controlled deliveries to hospitals, pharmacies, wholesalers and medical care surgeries as well as to end patients which it serves through its homecare business. As a Hospital Stock Assistant, for our Newport depot, you will be required to drive or use public transport to get to the Guildford Hospital where you will do a stock count and unpack, ensuring the medication is taken to the correct Hospital department. Working in a chiller is an essential part of this role. This is an additional service we offer to hospitals, so the successful candidate will be focused on attention to detail, treating our hospital staff with the utmost courtesy and respect.
Key responsibilities:
Unpack stock and ensure it is taken to correct hospital department.
Complete stock counts.
Product lines and numbers checked against the packing list and stock rotated and put away.
The driver has to conduct stock counts so must be accurate.
There can be several put away locations at the hospital, so the ideal candidate must become familiar with these areas and the different product lines.
Must be able to spend a long time working within the chilled area.
Present a smart working appearance at all time, and offer a niche professional service.
Key Skills/Experience/Requirements:
Appreciates the need for confidentiality
Category B Drivers Licence ideal but not essential
Previousexperience of working in a chilled pharmaceutical/hospital environment desired but not essential
Excellent communication and customer service skills
High attention to detail
Good organisation skills with the ability to prioritise and use own initiative
Excellent written and oral communication skills
