Finance Director – Belfast

REED Finance is exclusively partnered with a thriving international client who seek to appoint a visionary Finance Director to lead their finance department and drive the company's overall financial strategy.  The FD will play a key role in overseeing all financial aspects of the company, ensuring financial resources are aligned with the company's business needs and objectives.  We would ideally like to hear from those with previous international/multicurrency/multi-jurisdiction experience.

Duties:

  • Overseeing the accounts teams in all aspects of international payroll, sales and purchases, general ledgers, asset management, banking and reconciliation
  • Developing monthly, quarterly and annual forecasts and reports
  • Compilation of individual company accounts, departmental accounts, branch accounts, intercompany and group accounts in accordance with the recognised principles
  • Project and departmental accounting, measurement for staged payments on large projects
  • Working with operations team to price sub-contract works
  • Managing higher level queries from contractors, clients and suppliers to effective resolution
  • Administering credit insurance, limits and bad debt
  • Liaising with external accountants and professionals to ensure compliance with local regulations in the relevant countries
  • Review of multi-jurisdictional contracts for customers and suppliers alongside our legal partners
  • Dealing with enquiries from HMRC and the tax offices of various other jurisdictions
  • Managing pension schemes and staff benefits
  • Ensuring international certifications are maintained and compliance with banking regulations by way of regular external audits, and managing/correcting non-conformities as they arise
  • Drive financial planning and analysis to enhance operational efficiency and profitability
  • Evaluate financial performance and make recommendations for improvement

Requirements:

  • Qualified to ACCA/CIMA or QBE with minimum 10 years’ experience
  • Proven experience in a senior financial leadership role
  • Experience of managing international clients
  • Experience of dealing with multi-currency banking platforms, exchange rate risk with forward buy contracts and invoice discounting facilities
  • Extensive experience of Sage 50 accounts and payroll, proficient in MS Office suite
  • Strong background in managing complex financial projects and teams
  • Experience in developing and implementing scalable financial strategies
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels
