A great opportunity has arisen for a Health & Safety professional to join a leading engineering and automation company specializing assembly-based solutions for a wide range of industrial sectors. In a brand-new company position we are now seeking a dedicated Health, Safety & Compliance Officer to support our continued growth and ensure our operations remain safe, compliant, and efficient.
Job Description:
Health & Safety
- Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies and procedures across the site.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, safety audits, and site inspections.
- Lead incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Deliver training and awareness programs to promote a strong safety culture.
Site Maintenance & Compliance
- Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance activities to ensure operational continuity.
- Ensure all plant, machinery, and infrastructure meet safety and compliance standards.
- Manage relationships with external contractors and service providers.
Audits & ISO Standards
- Prepare for and manage internal and external audits (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
- Maintain up-to-date documentation and records to support audit readiness.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives based on audit outcomes.
GDPR & Data Protection
- Ensure compliance with GDPR and internal data protection policies.
- Conduct regular reviews of data handling practices and staff training.
Accreditations & Reporting
- Maintain and support industry-specific accreditations and certifications.
- Produce regular reports and KPIs for senior management on H&S and compliance performance.
Beneficial Qualifications & Experience:
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
- Ideally experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or automation environment.
- Strong knowledge of ISO standards and audit processes.
- Familiarity with GDPR and data protection regulations.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proactive and hands-on approach to safety and compliance.
- Ability to influence and engage staff at all levels.
- Strong attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset.
