We are working with an Ofsted rated good primary school in Northampton. The school is looking to appoint a caring and motivated Early Years Teaching Assistant to support young learners during this crucial stage of development.

About the Role:

As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you'll play a key role in supporting children aged 3-5 as they explore, grow, and learn through play and structured activities. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) lessons

  • Supporting children in small groups and one-to-one, including those with additional needs

  • Helping with routines such as snack time, toileting, and outdoor play

  • Promoting positive behaviour and creating a safe, inclusive learning environment

  • Observing and recording children's progress to support their development

This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain classroom experience and build your skills - perfect for aspiring teachers, early years practitioners, or psychology and education graduates.

Requirements:

  • A genuine passion for working with young children

  • Previous experience in a nursery or early years setting

  • A proactive, flexible, and patient approach

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistant) are desirable but not essential
