Shifts: 6:00 pm – 6:00 am, 3 on / 3 off

The Role of the Electrical Maintenance Engineer

The Electrical Maintenance Engineer will deliver preventative maintenance and respond to breakdowns on a wide range of automated equipment, with a strong focus on electrical fault-finding, controls and drives.

 

Key Responsibilities of the Electrical Maintenance Engineer

  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults quickly to minimise unplanned downtime
  • Investigate root causes and implement robust, long-term fixes
  • Maintain and improve control systems (PLCs, HMIs, VSDs/inverters, sensors, safety circuits)
  • Complete planned maintenance and statutory checks to schedule
  • Uphold site safety, hygiene and quality standards at all times
  • Collaborate with operations, escalating unresolved issues where needed

 

About the Electrical Maintenance Engineer

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering (e.g. C&G, HNC); Multiskilled mechanically is a plus
  • Strong electrical fault-finding in fast-paced, automated environments (2+ years)
  • Hands-on experience with PLCs/HMIs, inverters/VSDs, servo motors, control panels, sensors, and safety circuits
  • 18th Edition (desired)
  • Exposure to SCADA and basic instrumentation/pneumatics (desired)
  • HACCP Level 2/3, IOSH or NEBOSH (desired)
  • Food industry experience (desired)
