As an Electromechanical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe, reliable and cost-effective operation of high-performance mobile platforms.
Key Responsibilities:Â
- Develop and document cost-effective solutions to improve product safety, reliability, and availability in line with relevant standards
- Conduct thorough analysis of downloads and failures to identify root causes
- Support discussions with suppliers for technical failure information and potential solutions
- Interact with support functions and key suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of material and services
- Participate in performance reviews and maintain up-to-date knowledge of rolling stock and EMU systems
- Support change control processes and provide technical expertise and guidance to internal teams and stakeholders
Who They’re Looking for:
- HND / HNC/ BTEC/ CTEC qualification or higher in electrical or mechanical engineering, or equivalent experience in a railway environment
- Demonstrable knowledge of railway maintenance techniques and procedures, railway systems, systematic fault finding, and problem identification
- Ability to review, analyse, and interrogate technical reports, as well as analyse train-borne event and fault diagnostic systems
- Strong written and oral communication skills, good knowledge of IT systems and software
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, setting clear targets and deliverables
- Beneficial qualifications: experience dealing with customers and suppliers, good technical knowledge of the relevant rolling stock platform, analytical techniques, leadership skills within a matrix organisation structure
