Buyer - Roofing and cladding (Part time)

We are a well-established roofing and cladding contractor delivering high-quality solutions to commercial, industrial, and residential projects across the region. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Part-Time Buyer to join our procurement team and play a key role in ensuring materials and supplies are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and to specification.

As a Part-Time Buyer, you will support the procurement function by managing supplier relationships, negotiating prices, and ensuring materials are available to meet project schedules. You will work closely with our project managers, estimators, and site teams to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of roofing and cladding materials.

• Source and procure materials, plant, and equipment for roofing and cladding projects.

• Obtain and compare supplier quotations, negotiate pricing, and place purchase orders.

• Manage and maintain supplier relationships to ensure best value and reliability.

• Monitor stock levels, deliveries, and lead times to meet project requirements.

• Liaise with project teams to forecast upcoming material needs.

• Verify delivery notes, invoices, and purchase orders for accuracy.

• Maintain procurement records and ensure compliance with company purchasing policies.

• Support the wider commercial and operations team with cost reporting and budgeting.

• Proven experience in a buying or procurement role, ideally within construction, roofing, or cladding.

• Strong negotiation, communication, and organisational skills.

• Knowledge of roofing and cladding materials and suppliers is highly desirable.

• Competent in Microsoft Office and procurement/order management systems.

• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

• Self-motivated, reliable, and comfortable working independently.

• Flexibility to work part-time hours (e.g., 2–3 days per week or reduced daily hours).
