Senior Field Service Engineer (Waste Machinery)

Location: Nationwide (occasional travel to head office)
Salary: 45,000 - 50,000 + Overtime (paid at 1.5x)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Field Service Engineer to join a well-established engineering team working with waste and recycling machinery. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with strong technical ability and leadership skills who wants to take ownership of their work and help drive high service standards across the business.

You'll be working across the UK servicing, maintaining, and commissioning a range of machinery, with a particular focus on balers, compactors, and other waste-handling equipment.



Key Responsibilities

  • Service, repair, and commission balers, compactors, and other waste machinery on customer sites

  • Lead on complex fault diagnosis and provide remote and on-site technical support

  • Carry out both electrical and hydraulic maintenance, including diagnostics and component replacement

  • Perform welding and fabrication repairs as required

  • Deliver operator training and provide mentoring to junior engineers

  • Review and improve service procedures and technical documentation

  • Ensure high levels of health and safety and professionalism at all times



Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 5 years' experience working with balers, compactors, or recycling machinery (essential)

  • Strong electrical and hydraulic knowledge with fault-finding experience

  • Welding skills (Desireable); fabrication experience desirable

  • Confident reading and interpreting electrical and hydraulic schematics

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

  • Full UK driving licence (clean)

  • Flexibility for occasional overnight stays and weekend work (paid overtime)
