About the Role

Join Northamptonshire's Duty and Assessment Team (DAAT) - the frontline service for safeguarding concerns involving young people. Working closely with the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH), you'll play a vital role in ensuring every child is seen promptly and receives the support they need.



Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for safeguarding referrals passed from MASH.
  • Complete timely visits:
    • Child in Need (CIN): within 5 days
    • Child Protection (CP): within 24 hours (same day where possible)
  • Manage a caseload capped at 35 (currently averaging 25-30 cases).
  • Work with approximately 5 families at a time, often with multiple children.


About the Service

  • 6 teams of 8-10 professionals, including Team Managers, Advanced Practitioners, Social Workers, NQSWs, and Family Support Workers.
  • Countywide coverage, with long-term plans to allocate you to a specific area (e.g., Daventry, Northampton Central, Corby).
  • Stable leadership: permanent senior management and experienced locum Team Managers (2+ years in service).


Working Arrangements

  • Operates on a 6-week duty cycle.
  • Duty Week: Full-time office presence required.
  • Local availability for visits during duty periods.
