We are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil in a primary school setting. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is calm under pressure, understands emotional and behavioural needs, and can build strong, trusting relationships with pupils who require extra support to engage in their learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide consistent, tailored 1:1 support for a pupil with SEMH needs
Implement behaviour strategies and support emotional regulation
Build a strong, supportive relationship with the child to promote trust and engagement
Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to follow and adapt support plans
Monitor progress and report daily outcomes and concerns
Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and nurturing school environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with children with SEMH or challenging behaviour
Strong interpersonal and behaviour management skills
A patient, empathetic, and positive approach
The ability to remain calm, consistent, and supportive
Experience working 1:1 or in small groups within a school setting (preferred)
A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2/3 TA, Team Teach or similar - desirable but not essential)
