We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of English to join a high-performing team, supporting learners to develop their numeracy skills and achieve their GCSE English qualifications.

Role Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging lessons in GCSE and Functional Skills English, to vocational learners.

  • Plan and assess learning in line with college policies, ensuring all students are supported to achieve their goals.

  • Track and monitor student progress through effective feedback and assessment.

  • Collaborate with vocational teams to embed numeracy within practical learning.

  • Contribute to curriculum development, ensuring teaching is relevant and inspiring.

  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports student wellbeing and achievement.



Essential Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject area.

  • Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one.

  • Experience teaching GCSE English in FE or secondary education.

  • Strong classroom management and excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to motivate and support learners, particularly those in vocational programmes.

  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
