About the Role:

Cheshire West Council is seeking a dedicated Social Worker to join their dynamic Learning Disabilities Team. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on individuals with learning disabilities by providing tailored support and advocacy.

What will your responsibilities be?

In this role, you will assess the needs of adults with learning disabilities and create tailored support plans to promote their well-being and independence. You will build effective working relationships with service users, families, and multi-disciplinary teams to deliver integrated services. Undertaking mental capacity assessments and ensuring adherence to the principles of the Mental Capacity Act will be essential. You will safeguard vulnerable adults by identifying risks and taking appropriate action, following statutory guidelines. Additionally, you will work collaboratively with health, education, and housing services to facilitate effective care packages. Maintaining accurate, timely records and ensuring compliance with council policies and statutory requirements, as well as engaging in reflective supervision and ongoing professional development to uphold high standards of social work practice, will be key aspects of your role.

Essential Requirements:

  • Social Work England registration
