Are you a caring, resilient and motivated individual with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a variety of inclusive mainstream and specialist schools across Cheshire East, and we are currently recruiting for SEND Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to start immediately.

These are full-time, long-term roles with the potential to lead to permanent positions for the right candidates.

About the Role:

As a SEND LSA, you will play a vital role in helping pupils with additional needs overcome barriers to learning. You'll be supporting children both in and out of the classroom, tailoring learning activities, providing emotional and behavioural support, and working alongside teachers and SENCOs to ensure each child reaches their full potential.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing one-to-one and small group support to pupils with a range of SEND, including Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH needs.

  • Assisting with classroom activities and ensuring students are engaged and supported throughout lessons.

  • Supporting the development of social skills, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour.

  • Liaising with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals as needed.

  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.

Candidate Profile:

We are looking for individuals who are:

  • Experienced in working with children or young people with SEND (in school or alternative settings).

  • Patient, empathetic, and calm under pressure.

  • Flexible and able to adapt to different school environments and pupil needs.

  • Strong communicators and effective team players.

  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant qualifications, psychology degrees) are welcome but not essential. A valid Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service) or willingness to obtain one through Tradewind Recruitment is required.
