Reed Finance Norwich are delighted to be working exclusively with our client in the Financial Services industry, based in Norwich to recruit for an Accountant to join their team. We are seeking an experienced Part or Fully Qualified Finance Business Partner/Accountant with a strong background in business partnering and client facing roles. This role is ideal for someone with at least 10 years of proven experience, who thrives in managing a diverse client portfolio and delivering high-quality work to deadlines.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Prepare and review year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
  • Prepare and submit self-assessment and corporation tax returns.
  • Advise clients on personal and business tax matters, including tax planning opportunities in partnership with independent financial advisers.
  • Oversee all accounting processes including VAT returns, Payroll, Capital Gains, ATED returns, HMRC investigations, business planning, and tax advisory work.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients, managing their needs and expectations.
  • Liaise with HMRC and other relevant bodies on behalf of clients.
  • Utilise IRIS accounting software for accounts production and tax return preparation and oversee bookkeeping and reporting using Xero and other cloud-based systems.
  • Mentor and support junior team members, ensuring quality control and professional development.
  • Stay updated with changes in tax legislation and accounting standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Part or Fully Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent understanding of both personal and business tax.
  • Proficiency in IRIS and Xero; familiarity with other accounting packages like QuickBooks and Sage is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of clearly explaining complex information to clients.
  • Proven ability to manage deadlines and the demands of multiple clients.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organised, and proactive in problem-solving.
