Job Summary

The Stores Operative will support the production process by preparing kits for assembly, receiving and storing goods, and assisting with dispatch and stock control. This role is essential in maintaining the efficient flow of materials throughout the business.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Kitting & Stock Handling
    • Pick and prepare electronic and mechanical components into sub-assembly kits.
    • Place received items into designated stock locations with appropriate protection to maintain quality.
    • Assist with general material control and participate in stock-takes.
  • Goods Inwards
    • Receive and inspect incoming goods.
    • Accurately record deliveries and report any discrepancies or damages.
  • Logistics & Dispatch
    • Deliver and collect items from local suppliers.
    • Support the Despatch team in packing goods as required.
  • General
    • Manage workload under the supervision of the Production Supervisor.
    • Ensure all tasks are completed accurately and on time.
    • Report shortages, rejects, or quality issues promptly.
    • Follow all Health & Safety regulations as outlined in the Company Rulebook.
    • Carry out other reasonable tasks as required.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to follow formal procedures and work instructions.
  • Basic computer skills, particularly for viewing stock control systems.
  • Willingness to learn and operate stores equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Full UK driving license.

Annual salary: £25,200

Annual leave: 27 days

Working hours: 39.5 hours a week - 8.15-4.45pm Mon - Thu, Fri finish 4.15pm, 30 mins lunch

Driving license: required
