KT & Coe are supporting a highly professional and well-established manufacturing company with the recruitment of an experienced Production Manager to join their senior operations team.
Working closely with the Workshop Manager, this is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient and cost-effective production of bespoke products, delivered on time and to the high standards of quality the business is known for.
Role Overview
The Production Manager will lead and support the production team, driving productivity, continuous improvement and operational excellence across the manufacturing facility. The role plays a critical part in meeting customer expectations while maintaining strong health, safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Operations

Ensure production schedules are met in line with company objectives

Monitor and adjust production plans to optimise efficiency and output

Design, implement and maintain production systems to deliver products on time and to specification

Drive continuous improvement across quality, cycle times, processes and machine availability using lean techniques

Analyse downtime, identify trends and implement solutions to improve utilisation
-
Identify production issues and resolve them through effective root cause analysis
-
Manage, monitor and report on KPIs

Conduct risk assessments for processes and tasks within the facility

Introduce and embed shop floor data capture systems to improve performance monitoring
People Management

Lead, motivate and support the production team to ensure appropriate staffing levels

Manage recruitment, training, development, appraisals, attendance and disciplinary processes

Monitor task completion and performance, ensuring standards are met and recorded
Quality, Health & Safety

Ensure all products meet company and regulatory quality standards

Drive adherence to ISO standards including ISO9001 and ISO14001
-
Lead audits of production processes and quality control, implementing corrective actions where required
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Essential

Proven experience in a manufacturing or production environment

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and technical information

Experience leading and developing production teams

Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques

Excellent planning, prioritisation and organisational skills

Strong communication, problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Good understanding of Health & Safety practices

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, email)

Experience using ERP / MRP systems

Relevant manufacturing or engineering qualification (electrical knowledge advantageous)
