Payroll Associate

Reed Accountancy Norwich are excited to offer an opportunity for a Payroll Associate to join our client's friendly team of 9 at their modern, ergonomically designed offices located in Norwich. Our client is part of an award-winning franchisor known for delivering top-notch client experiences in accountancy, tax, payroll, and other financial services.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Manage and accurately process various payrolls using Brightpay payroll software, including onboarding and processing tasks.
  • Handle processing of starters and leavers, statutory payments (SMP, SPP, SSP, etc.), and pension contributions to various workplace schemes.
  • Set up new payrolls in high volumes and manage payroll changes via an online portal.
  • Process CIS payments and deductions, and liaise with HMRC on PAYE accounts.
  • Maintain accurate records on Excel and manage all customer communications with a high level of focus and understanding of their business needs.
  • Provide telephone and email support within the team and cover for colleagues during holidays or other leave.
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll legislation and undergo payroll update training.
About You:
  • At least 2 years of proven experience in payroll administration.
  • Proficiency in payroll management software, preferably with recent experience in a payroll bureau or chartered accountancy practice.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building rapport with franchisees and their clients.
  • Organised, able to manage your workload effectively, and work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Good Excel skills and knowledge.
