Futures Manufacturing are supporting a market leading supplier of Construction and Civil Engineering Plant and Heavy Equipment as they search for a suitable Business Development Manager to cover their Northern UK Territory. With an established, mature CRM containing thousands of client leads they want to build on their existing relationships, maintain their key accounts, and expand their services and product offering (Capital Equipment, Aftersales Services, Spare Parts) to new contractors and service providers in the Civils, Rail, Utilities and Construction sectors.  

We are seeking a self-starter, someone capable of developing their own sales and account management strategy and then delivering against it. You will be self-motivated, capable of planning your own diary and forward thinking / proactive in your approach. The role will balance existing account management with new business activities in a well stablished patch, promoting capital equipment sales, service and spares to a captive audience of end users and contractors ranging from the Uks leading Civils and Utilities service providers to SMEs and small to mid-sized sub-contractors. You will be provided with all of the product knowledge and support from an established engineering, management, and marketing team but you will be the architect of your own sales process and strategy, utilising various routes to market, sales techniques and marketing tools to identify, approach and engage with potential clients across the UK.

  • Ability to grow sales through all mediums
  • Increase income and profit in line with the company’s growth targets
  • Develop and implement business plans
  • Market research to identify and penetrate new business opportunities
  • Think strategically, setting aims and objectives to develop and improve the business
  • Devise sales campaigns and create a sales pipeline
  • Carry out sales forecasts and analysis to present findings to senior management / directors
  • Regular face to face and telephone contact with customers
  • Have a complete understanding of all the business products and services to confidently advise new and existing clients
  • Willingness to travel throughout the north of the UK as required

  • Proven experience of external engagement and negotiations with businesses
  • Experience in large plant and equipment sales
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral with the ability to confidently present to a variety of audiences

  • Positive team player who has established and grown colleague and client relationships
  • Thinks strategically with the ability to manage issues
  • Confident and professional personal interactions
