Think Recruitment are currently working with a leading engineering consultancy who, due to increased workload and the opening of a new office in Nottingham, have an exciting opportunity for a Senior or Principal level Engineer to join the Power Civils team.

Our client are involved in a variety of large infrastructure projects across the UK and are looking for an experienced Civil or Strutural Engineer to join them, working closely with other disciplines on various new-build substations, substation upgrades/extensions and other electrical infrastructure, e.g. onshore wind farms and solar farms. Outline requirements for the role include:

  • HND or degree level qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Ideally IEng or CEng with membership of relevant professional engineering institution, e.g. ICE, IStructE.
  • Minimum 5 years civil/structural design experience on substation projects
  • Experience of working within Electrical Transmission and Distribution sectors.
  • Good understanding of CDM requirements.
  • Good understanding of UK Environmental and Waste Management legislation and requirements.
  • Good knowledge of National Grid's Transmission Procedures, in particular: TP106, TP135, TP137, TP141, TP153, TP184, TP188, TP219, TP221, TP235, TP241.
  • To supervise and mentor others.
