We are currently seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join a thriving secondary school in Swadlincote. The Role:We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to manage classroom behaviour and deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the regular teacher. This temporary role is ideal for individuals who are confident, organised, and interested in gaining further experience within a secondary school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a variety of pre-set lessons across different subjects and year groups.

  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports learning and respect.

  • Manage classroom behaviour and ensure a safe, structured environment.

  • Provide general support to students and assist with any queries during lessons.

  • Liaise with teaching staff and senior leadership when required.

Minimum Requirements:To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Experience: Previous experience working with secondary-aged students, preferably in a school or tutoring setting.

  • Training: Basic understanding of classroom management strategies and safeguarding protocols.

  • Qualifications: A formal qualification obtained in the UK, or a statement of comparability for overseas qualifications.

  • Skills: Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and motivate students.

  • Safeguarding: An enhanced DBS check registered to the update service is required (or be willing to undergo one).

All applicants must undergo an enhanced DBS check (Child Workforce) prior to working if not already in possession of one that is registered to the update service.
