Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Building Surveyor to join our team on a temporary basis for 3-6 months. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting surveys, inspections, and assessments of residential properties within the Nottingham and Derby areas. This role is crucial in ensuring the maintenance and improvement of housing standards for our tenants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed surveys and inspections of residential properties.
  • Identify and report on structural defects, maintenance issues, and necessary repairs.
  • Prepare detailed reports and recommendations based on survey findings.
  • Liaise with contractors and oversee repair and maintenance work.
  • Ensure compliance with building regulations and health and safety standards.
  • Provide expert advice on property management and improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all inspections and work carried out.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Building Surveyor, preferably within a housing association or similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of building regulations, health and safety standards, and property maintenance.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prepare detailed reports and communicate findings effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Relevant qualifications in Building Surveying or a related field.
