Carrington West are pleased to be working with a local authority who are looking for a Streetworks Technician to join their Highways & Transport team.
 
Role Overview:
You will play a key role in the Network Management Service, taking ownership of streetworks noticing, coordination, and licensing responsibilities. This role involves monitoring, inspecting, and enforcing statutory regulations under the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) 1991 and the Traffic Management Act 2004.
 
Key Responsibilities:
·Carrying out site inspections on live and completed works to ensure NRSWA compliance.
·Using the Street Works Register to review, report, and correspond on streetworks activity.
·Issuing defect notices, initiating enforcement, and recovering costs where required.
·Ensuring council interests are protected and standards maintained.
Requirements:
·HNC or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related field, or significant relevant experience.
·Strong working knowledge of the Highways Act 1980 and the Street Works Act 1991.
·Street Works Supervisor accreditation (essential).
·Solid understanding of CoP for Inspections, street works safety, and reinstatement practices.
·Strong numerical and technical skills essential.
