We are recruiting for a Quality Assurance Manager to join a growing, independent and values-led care group supporting residential and dementia homes across Devon. This is a systems-focused, hands-on quality role within a family-run organisation. The focus is on embedding strong governance, improving consistency and supporting managers to use systems effectively.

The Role

As Quality Assurance Manager, you will work across the group to strengthen quality systems, audits and compliance processes, ensuring systems are embedded correctly and consistently across all services. This role suits an experienced care professional who understands the reality of care home life and is confident balancing compliance with practical, supportive leadership.

You will act as a key bridge between operations and governance, supporting CQC readiness and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Audit and embed quality, compliance and governance systems across the group
  • Ensure care planning, rotas, HR, training and medication systems are used accurately
  • Support managers with CQC readiness and inspection preparation
  • Train and upskill managers and teams on systems and best practice
  • Improve data quality, consistency and reporting
  • Work collaboratively alongside operational leaders to support sustainable improvement

Key Systems

Strong IT confidence is essential, with experience auditing and training across systems for care planning, rotas, HR and compliance, training and medication.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Strong background in residential elderly care
  • Recently active Registered Manager or similar senior care role
  • Confident transitioning into quality, governance or QA
  • Level 5 qualification preferred
  • Strong understanding of CQC frameworks and care home operations
  • Organised, systematic and confident training others
  • Supportive, collaborative and values-led approach
