The roles and responsibilities of a Quality Manager:
- Oversee and maintain the full Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with internal standards and external regulations.
- Drive and embed a strong Quality culture across the organization through leadership, communication, and training initiatives.
- Manage and develop the Quality Engineering (QE) team, including performance reviews, mentoring, and resource planning.
- Monitor, analyse, and report on Quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to senior leadership, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, process efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure effective root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues.
- Support audits and inspections, both internal and external, and ensure timely closure of findings.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain to ensure quality standards are upheld.
- Develop and maintain quality documentation, including policies, procedures, and work instructions.
- Stay up to date with relevant industry standards, certifications, and best practices.
Requirements of the Quality Manager:
- Must have 3-5 Year experience in Quality Management in an Automotive Environment
- Good understanding of Quality Management Systems
- Proven experience embedding a strong quality culture
- Knowledge of the ISO 9001 quality policies and system requirements.
- Knowledge of IATF (essential) & VDA 6.3 audit Policies & Procedure Requirements
- Knowledge of health & safety and environmental procedures
- Initiative and problem-solving abilities (Quality Core Tools)
- Good communication and time management skills
- Conversant with Microsoft systems such as outlook, word & excel etc
