Are you a Psychology graduate with a passion for education and supporting young people?
Aspire People are currently recruiting a bank of Graduate Pastoral Assistants to meet the high demand from our partner schools across Oldham. These schools are seeking dedicated and resilient graduates to provide pastoral and emotional support to students, particularly those with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs) and challenging behaviour.
This is an excellent opportunity for graduates with previous school-based experience who are ready to take the next step into a pastoral or wellbeing-focused role.
The Role:
* Support students with SEMH and behavioural needs on a 1:1 and small-group basis
* Work closely with the SENCo, Heads of Year, and pastoral teams to implement support strategies
* Build positive, trusting relationships with students to encourage engagement and personal growth
* Promote emotional wellbeing, resilience, and positive behaviour across the school community
* Monitor progress, support interventions, and contribute to a safe and inclusive learning environment
Requirements:
* A UK bachelor's degree in Psychology or a closely related field
* Previous experience working in a school setting - essential
* Understanding of safeguarding procedures and child protection
* Resilient, empathetic, and confident when managing challenging behaviour
* DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for a new one)
* References covering the last 2 years
