Our client doesn't just build services - they build smart, adaptable, and commercially sound environments.

They deliver technically-driven mechanical and electrical solutions with a reputation for flexibility, problem-solving, and results.

They are now seeking a Quantity Surveyor with a strong focus on contract negotiation, risk management, and dispute resolution - someone who thrives on shaping commercial outcomes and safeguarding project viability.

About the Role

This is a strategic commercial role, ideal for a QS who wants to focus on contracts over counts. You'll take the lead on contractual matters from pre-construction through to final account - advising, negotiating, and resolving as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate main and subcontract agreements, ensuring commercially favourable and risk-mitigated terms.

  • Lead the handling of disputes and claims, managing the preparation of documentation and representing the business in resolution discussions.

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual risks early in the project lifecycle.

  • Provide guidance on payment issues, variations, delay claims, and final accounts.

  • Work closely with directors, project teams, and external parties to maintain clear commercial control throughout delivery.

  • Navigate and apply JCT, NEC, and bespoke contract forms confidently and effectively.

What You'll Need

  • Experience working with a contractor - ideally in building services or design & build environments.

  • Demonstrated expertise in contract negotiation and dispute resolution within the construction sector.

  • Strong working knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage sensitive commercial issues.

  • A proactive, detail-driven approach and the confidence to advise at both project and senior management level.

Why This Role?

Our client operates in fast-paced, high-spec environments where getting the commercial structure right is as important as getting the install right. If you're a commercially astute QS who prefers a strategic, contract-first focus - this is your kind of role.
