We have partnered with a leading entertainment games company based in Oxfordshire. We are looking for a highly skilled and passionate conceptual games designer with strong 2D/3D animation abilities to join our dynamic team. This is a hybrid working role with 4 days in the office and 1 day remote, offering a great work-life balance.

About the RoleWe are seeking a talented conceptual games designer and 2D/3D artist to join our team and create captivating slot and casino style games for various mobile-first platforms. As a pivotal contributor, you will be responsible for designing game concepts and collaborating with our team to bring these ideas to life through high-quality 2D and 3D assets, animations, and effects. This role will involve working closely with other artists, designers, developers, and testers to produce feature-rich games for both our internal and external platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and illustrate 2D and 3D elements for slot and casino style games, including symbols, backgrounds, UI, animations, and effects.
  • Create detailed concept art, storyboards, and sketches based on game briefs, incorporating themes, feature sets, and styles to gain project approval through multiple iterations and revisions.
  • Develop 2D and 3D assets in various styles and genres, such as realistic, cartoon, fantasy, and sci-fi.
  • Optimise 2D and 3D assets for performance and quality.
  • Collaborate with our existing creative team and other departments to ensure the artistic vision and quality standards are met.
  • Provide constructive feedback and suggestions to improve game art and design.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in the slot game industry.

Qualifications:

  • A strong portfolio showcasing 2D and 3D artwork, preferably related to slots and casino style games.
  • Demonstrate experience in producing concept art and specifications from game briefs that can be translated into production-ready games by artistic teams.
  • Proficiency in Spine, Photoshop, Illustrator, Maya, Blender, or other relevant software tools.
  • Experience in creating 2D and 3D assets for games, including textures, lighting, shading, rigging, and animation.
  • Familiarity with game art pipelines and best practises.
  • Ability to use and understand AI tools to streamline the development process for slot games.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Efficient time-management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines when necessary.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to handle feedback constructively.
  • A passion for playing and creating slot games.
