Data Science Manager 

Our complex instrumentation industry client is seeking a Data Science Manager.

Primary Purpose

The position of provides a key leadership role within the cross-functional engineering team. The individual is responsible for the on-time delivery of high-quality software for our complex engineering products and for working closely with other staff members in Research & Development, systems engineering, Product management and applications. 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead a team of data scientists in their delivery of high quality, fault-tolerant software, often in a time sensitive manner.
  • Own the Data Science strategy for the company and be able to communicate effectively with the other functions/departments.
  • People management of your team - career development, recruitment, mentoring, training, appraisals.
  • Project management – Working with a project lead, create, track and report against project plans for your team and supporting their integration into an overall program plan, including maintaining and managing technical debt.
  • Build appropriate processes to support continuous improvement.
  • Work effectively within a complex cross-functional multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Ensuring effective use of external partners to expand software delivery capabilities.
  • Hands-on technical contribution.
