About the Role
An established and well-respected Building Services Consultancy in Oxford is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their growing team.
This is a great opportunity to work on a variety of commercial, residential, education, and healthcare projects, contributing to sustainable and innovative building design. You’ll take a leading role in project delivery, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to produce efficient and creative design solutions.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the mechanical design on multiple projects from concept to completion.

Produce detailed designs, drawings, and specifications for HVAC, public health, and building management systems.

Attend design and coordination meetings with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.

Work collaboratively with electrical, sustainability, and architectural teams to deliver integrated solutions.

Ensure compliance with UK building regulations, sustainability targets, and industry best practices.

Support project bids, fee proposals, and contribute to business development when required.
About You
-
Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.

Chartered or working towards CEng status (IMechE or CIBSE).

Proven experience delivering mechanical building services design within a consultancy environment.

Strong technical understanding of HVAC systems, public health design, and sustainable design principles.

Proficient in relevant design software (e.g. Hevacomp, Revit, AutoCAD, IES).

Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to lead projects and work independently.

A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for mentoring junior engineers.
