Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a Finance Manager to join their senior leadership team. With a turnover in excess of £4 million and a workforce of 100+, this organisation plays a vital role in supporting adults and children with care needs throughout the region. This is an opportunity to bring strategic financial leadership to a mission-driven team making a tangible difference in people's lives. 

The Role

This is a pivotal role for an experienced finance professional seeking to apply their expertise in a purpose-led organisation. As Finance Manager, you will lead on all financial matters, reporting directly to the CEO and supporting the board in informed decision-making. You'll drive budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and financial reporting, while overseeing a small finance team and managing external audit relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with organisational goals
  • Lead on annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and financial planning
  • Produce timely and accurate management accounts and board reports
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial legislation and reporting standards
  • Oversee day-to-day finance operations, cash flow, and funding streams
  • Support grant management, ensuring robust tracking and reporting
  • Manage and develop a finance team of 2 administrators and a payroll specialist
  • Liaise with external accountants and auditors during year-end processes
  • Present financial updates to the Board of Trustees with clarity and confidence

 About You

  • Professionally qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or part-qualified with credible experience working alongside external financial advisors
  • Proven experience in a senior finance role, ideally within the charity or care sector
  • Skilled in financial reporting, compliance, and systems oversight
  • Strong analytical thinker with attention to detail
  • Confident communicator, able to present financial matters to both financial and non-financial stakeholders
  • High levels of integrity, with a genuine alignment to values-led work
  • Experience managing or mentoring a small team is desirable
