Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a Finance Manager to join their senior leadership team. With a turnover in excess of £4 million and a workforce of 100+, this organisation plays a vital role in supporting adults and children with care needs throughout the region. The Role
This is a pivotal role for an experienced finance professional seeking to apply their expertise in a purpose-led organisation. As Finance Manager, you will lead on all financial matters, reporting directly to the CEO and supporting the board in informed decision-making. You'll drive budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and financial reporting, while overseeing a small finance team and managing external audit relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with organisational goals
- Lead on annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and financial planning
- Produce timely and accurate management accounts and board reports
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial legislation and reporting standards
- Oversee day-to-day finance operations, cash flow, and funding streams
- Support grant management, ensuring robust tracking and reporting
- Manage and develop a finance team of 2 administrators and a payroll specialist
- Liaise with external accountants and auditors during year-end processes
- Present financial updates to the Board of Trustees with clarity and confidence
About You
- Professionally qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or part-qualified with credible experience working alongside external financial advisors
- Proven experience in a senior finance role, ideally within the charity or care sector
- Skilled in financial reporting, compliance, and systems oversight
- Strong analytical thinker with attention to detail
- Confident communicator, able to present financial matters to both financial and non-financial stakeholders
- High levels of integrity, with a genuine alignment to values-led work
- Experience managing or mentoring a small team is desirable
